More J-Rock, and a Little Hardcore

I’m hoping we get to post something like this once a week or so. There are just a lot of good bands out there, and we get the chance of hearing about them a little earlier than some might otherwise. Keep sending in those tips on cool bands!

In keeping with the J-Rock theme from yesterday, a couple of people messaged me and posted in our forum about some other J-Rock bands. Until then, I only knew about Dir En Grey and X-Japan (or is it Japan-X?).

Malice Mizer They seem to bring in a bit of goth influence to the whole Visual Kei thing, but unfortunately, they broke up in 2001. Several of the members are now doing solo projects, but the band STILL has a cult following after they have disbanded. I can see why though, the music is very unique and they are still worth checking out.

firstblood.jpgFirst Blood No, they arent Jrock! Now for those of you?that have been looking for an old school sounding hardcore band, I hit upon it today while browing Trustkill’s site. The band is from San Fransisco, but just started their European tour which you can find dates for on their myspace page.http://www.myspace.com/firstblood

The correct form is “X JAPAN”.

You should also check out the Japanese bands L’Arc~en~Ciel (already released CDs in the U.S. through Sony’s Tofu Records) and Mucc.
