Mad Lib Music?
A new company I ran across called “Tailored Music” ( http://www.tailoredmusic.com/) has a really unique approach to making music …
The idea is this: Say you’re getting married (just started dating someone new, stuff like that). You want to write a song for that person or for the occasion, but can’t play for shit… using this company you can go through all these templates in different genre’s, change the words around, and they’ll record it for you.
I can see this working with SOME people - I guess. I know that if any guy I was dating did this I would think it was lame as hell and that he should have found a friend with a guitar and playing ability to do this with him if he wanted to be cheesy. At the same time though, I can think of a million girls who would think it was the coolest thing ever. Hell actually its cool to see musicians thinking of ways to make money …(they’re looking for more musicians to hire BTW)
However, there is someone who has already been doing this for a LOOONG time and not from a template ! You give instructions and then you get a song…simple… this has led to songs such as “Im a sad sad toaster made of glass” (the instructions were to write a song about a sad toaster made of glass. that walks around the contry) and “Shoot the Zombies” (an instructional song about shooting zombies.
