Who is Victory Pill?
August 17th, 2007 by MrsBarnes
Victory Pill just signed onto Corporate Punishment records, but if you are outside of the UK you may have missed out on any introduction to them. Simply put, Victory Pill is Jim Davies (Guitars, vocals, programming), Kieron Pepper (Bass, backing vocals, programming, production),  Pete Crossman (Production, live synths/beatz), and Alex Baker (live drums).
BETTER PUT, Victory Pill is a project started up by Jim Davies as an outlet for a ton of instrumental material he has put together over the last few years. Now Davies used to be the liveguitarist for Prodigy. Remember them? Their biggest song by far here in the States was “Firestarter”, which came out just as I was old enough to appreciate a pissed off looking British guy making various faces at a camera – ie the entire Firestarter video! In my opinion, their coolest video was “Breathe” (see below), which if it didn’t get any MTV awards or something REALLY SHOULD HAVE (if you remember if it did or didnt please post a comment).
Victory Pill is much more laid back, in fact Davies vocals have that kicked back style that you hear in vocals of some Prong songs. You would never expect those vocals with electronic sounds to have some heavy guitars thrown in, but they do it! This isnt so much a band that you would say “if you liked prodigy then you’ll like them” — no no no,… although true – This band stands up pretty damn well on its own.
I really like the look of their video for “Worst Case Scenario” , hopefully their new label gets them over here for a tour soon.
