Brent Hinds (Mastodon) Side Project : Fiend Without a Face
 I admit, I love finding side projects for known bands like this - especially when they are SOO different ! This project certainly meets that criteria. In fact, Im not even really sure how you would describe the sound of this band at all. They picked “surf” as the genre on their myspace page  - OK - I hear that but there is a good dose of rockabilly too. Makes sense… they are from Atlanta after all! Take a listen for yourself (link goes to their myspace page).
I’m sure they have been playing smaller shows here and there but they just lined up their first ‘big’ show! August 31 they will be playing with Clutch, Beatallica, and others at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC. This is all part of the book release party Royal Flush Magazine is throwing so you can be sure there will be random special guests, and prizes of some sort! Dont miss it if you are in the area!
