Kerry King and Marty Friedman on Japanese TV
This has got to be one of the strangest shows I’ve ever seen. It appears as though Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth) is one of the ‘house’ guitarists; and it starts off with him playing very random stuff like ‘Call Me’ by Blondie, etc. Right?
Before you can even figure out what that is all about, a special guest comes out and it’s Kerry King of Slayer! After playing guitar a bit, they play a “guess the song” type of game, and then just hang out and jam random songs with eachother while talking about the artists. You’ll see them playing stuff from Venom, Pantera, and others.
You should jump ahead to 3:30 where some Ninja jumps in with a Slayer CD asking for an autograph (Im not joking) . That’s where it gets good. Don’t worry - even though there is a lot of japanese with no subtitles, they do start speaking english more once Kerry King is there, and the entire last part where King and Friedman are just jamming is in english.
The other highlight you have to see? Fast foward to 16 minutes into the video, when Friedman asks King to play Hotel California. I believe the quote is something like “I can’t believe you asked me to play such a shitty fucking tune” LOL. If you want to watch just one thing then watch that part.

haha its like just by Kerry’s presence Marty Friedman got his fire stolen. So he starts shredding stuff to be a douche while Kerry plays the actual song….
