From First to Last Studio Update
If you’ve been wondering what is up with these guys with the personnel shifts and the label stuff, they FINALLY updated everyone:
 ”Most of you know that when sonny quit we were pretty much on our own..we used the opportunity to part ways with our manger we had for a while Tim Smith, and our lable at the time ,capitol, was in the middle of a corporate take over so they wouldnt give us any money to start the record..so ultimately we were lableless too.
So naturally we went to Valdosta and recorded the album on our own at our boy Lee’s studio and thats what got us signed to suretone/interscope and brought in our new manager Jordan Schurr..
But along with Jordan came the opportunity of totally starting over and making the record from scratch along side some veteran studio people, and being the studio nerds that we all are we of course took the chance (sick opportunity to gain studio knowledge!)
and thats what’s goin on now..We are in LA recording with Josh Abraham and Ryan Williams..
Derek has completed 6 songs already, and i think he plays on 11 tracks total, so we are over the half way mark for drums and soon Manning will be busting out the dragontap on bass and Matt and myself will try to use way too many pedals on guitar(lol for studio ppl) and then we record vocals!
If any of you caught us on tour then you kinda know how the vocals will be..
Matt, me (travis) and Manning will be doing all the vocals, and there’s this certain way we all come together and it sounds so huge and all of us have like these crazy spastic screaming parts sometimes (even mr. good!) haha!!
This record is going to come across sounding loud, fun, heartfelt and full of excitement..Dereks drum parts are nuts, and we have songs that CRUSH and songs that everyone can sing along to, there is just alot of everything crammed into this mother!
The plan is to finish tracking the record which should be roughly a few more weeks and then pick a song to release mad early with a video and start touring this winter in support of an early ‘08 release of the new fftl…
we havent totally decided what the tour is going to be, we have a bunch of options but when we know more about all this ill deffinitely let all of you know!We will also be updating our new website with pictures from the studio and new videos of some random nonsense and us playing in the studio to hold everyone over until we are finished with this process!
