Heavy metal acts moved off Disney propertiesMetal detectors may soon be irrelevant at House of Blues clubs, at least any sitting on property owned by the Walt Disney Co. Five heavy-metal concerts scheduled on Disney property in Anaheim and Orlando have been hastily shifted to other venues or canceled recently, according to House of Blues website calendars….[continue reading the article at the LA Times website: http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/la-et-metal15sep15,1,7695442.story?ctrack=2&cset=true ]

My thoughts? I think there were some complaints and that SOMEONE - SOMEWHERE got a bug in their ass about artwork on band’s CDs and their general ignorant opinions about what metal is. Whoever this was complained to Disney in such a way that Disney got scared of a lawsuit or bad publicity with their soccer mom crowd… so they changed everything really hastily without thinking it through. NOW we are seeing them trying to come up with good reasons, but pretty much failing at it…I bet they didnt expect bad publicity over the cancellations…if you read the article, you’ll see what I mean when you see their lame quotes, haha.

    that’s stupid.
i’m gonna start a Disney metal band now.
cover a bunch of Disney songs from The Hunchback and stuff and then they’ll have to let a metal band play.

  2. Andrea  Says:

    XD. I’d go see that.

  3. steve  Says:

that would be interesting but no they wouldnt have to let metal banmds play they would just sue you for using their songs and have the courts make you stop or send you to jail. the only way to get metal back would be through legal action or if enough people signed a petition threatening to boycot all thgins disney.

  4. Nadia  Says:

This is disney’s newest act of idiocy. It might’ve not necessarily been a misinterpretation, it may also have been the football mommies getting scared that their precious child would be exposed to “devil worshipper” music.
Okay, so they ban decent music, but they allow disney emo shit?!

  5. Mitch  Says:

    fuck them all.

  6. Metal Mark  Says:

I’m with Chris. You can doom out “Colors Of The Wind” from Pocahontas…like serious SUNN0))) / Burning Witch style. THEN we’ll see who wants to ban who!

And a Black Metal “Hakuna Matata” would be good too…

  7. CANNIBALLISM  Says:

  8. Derrick  Says:

Hell yeah I agree with all yas Disney is bing lil bitches about it they are too scared the new generetion may like metal lol fuckin pansy ass Disney, I would love to hear a heavy metal remix of Can you Fell the love tonight from Lion King lol that would be rockin!

  9. Joshua  Says:

“They should ban rap acts” I’ve seen some of the rap groups have been canceled, but I’m not sure if it’s because of Disney. Anyway, it’s bad business..the metal crowds that I’ve been with seem to bring lots of money to the area. This reminds me of high school type bullshit. Splitting the people up in cliques..etc.

  10. Cal lorenzi  Says:
