I was (and still am) in love with NORA’s fantastically heavy “Kill You for a Dollar” CD. They were one of the bands that really got me into hardcore some odd years ago, and now, with their latest; I see why I’m still a fan of them entirely. Well, they sure as hell do not disappoint with “Save Yourself” because it is as heavy as hell.

“Save Yourself” is just flat out heavy. “Have You Ever Had a Really Bad Day?” and “Just Like Johnny” are two of the heavier offering off this record, but you will find seriously chugging guitars, slabby drumming and laboring, but intense vocals in pretty much every track. NORA surely does not let you down in the metal department. “Save Yourself” is very barren hardcore that offers a bleak take on hardcore, but in a good way. “The Ending” even reminds of the Refused, and that is saying something. This is not metal for metals sake, it is metal forged in such an unforgiving manner that your eardrums might hate you forever if you listen to it at a high volume. Or, if you hate your ears and want to punish them, crank the volume to 11 and run with it.

If you need a considerable dose of heavy music, and I’m sure right about now you do, go out and pick this album up. It should do the trick.
