Writing Songs Makes Ville Valo Depressed
I dunno, the headline for this makes me uncomfortable. How would I feel about headlines like “MrsBarnes gets heartburn from too much beer” or “300 Wasn’t Entertaining to MrsBarnes at all”… in other words, feelings and such are internal and very personal /subjective and all that. But I took the headline from a different article anyway, and he did talk about it in an interview - so Im moving on.
Valo specifically said about songwriting
“You open the door for the demons, and everything just f**king comes out. Now the meltdowns are getting worse, and the depression won’t go away; it’s like being haunted by the most vile creatures ever created. I’ve had depression before, but when you’re so overwhelmed that it’s taking you over… I just don’t know if I’m prepared emotionally or mentally to write another song.”
Can you imagine? Most artists talk about how cathartic writing has been for them , how they get all their demons out and feel better, hell Korn has based their entire career on that very idea!
It must suck for it to work the other way around…

im a huge fan of ville valo i love all his music and so does my daughter as well i hope he keeps making more album cause he is the only gothic i know who keeps it real with his music and keeps it real when it comes to love relationships through his music no matter what ville valo everstop singing i will always love him and his beautiful music
