“Village Lanterne” Music Video by Blackmore’s Night
Many of you may know Richie Blackmore as the iconic guitarist in Deep Purple and then later as the founding member of Rainbow but perhaps you’ve never heard of Blackmore’s Night.
The origins of the band lie in 1990 when Candice Night was working at a local New York rock music radio station. She first encountered Ritchie Blackmore, then with Deep Purple, at a soccer game in which he was playing. The two became romantically involved and discovered that they shared a passionate interest in the Renaissance.
The group performs at Renaissance Fairs and Renaissance Festivals, as well as in stand-alone concert tours in appropriate venues including ‘castle tours’ of Europe, where they perform in historic surroundings for an audience dressed largely in period costume.
Our Thanksgiving weekend of Christmas music videos to kickoff the Holday season continues with their latest video:

Good song, nice guitar work, his wife (singer) is a total babe with a great voice. Blackmore should lose the mustache and get back with Ian Gillan & Co. and tear it up again!!!

Gillan can’t sing anymore (watch the Deep Purple: Live at Montreux DVD) he has no power, no range and absolutely no class.
If Blackmore is to reform Deep Purple, it should be with the David Coverdale/Glenn Hughes line up - not Gillan - he’s way overdue for retirement!
