Hocus Pocus by Focus. Yeah, Focus was Apparently a Strange Band

January 29th, 2008 by MrsBarnes

I know that I’m asking for 10050 know it alls to rail on me for only discovering this video recently. Well kiss my ass! LOL. A friend of mine sent this to me on Facebook about a month ago. Before that, I wouldn’t have known this song or the band!

For those of you who haven’t seen this before, it’s the 70’s band Focus performing one of their “wierder” songs which consists of lots of yodeling and , well.. just watch it for yourself. Make sure you at least wait to hear the verses! If you dont walk away thinking “What the Fuck” then good for you.

Been a big Focus and Jan Akkerman (guitarist) fan for a while now, can’t say I’ve ever seen this performance before though. More familiar with the Old Grey Whistle Test performance of Sylvia and Hocus Pocus, which is how a lot of people, myself included, discovered them. Been to see Akkerman live twice now, he’s a far better guitarist than a lot of the greats out there it has to be said, yet doesn’t get the much deserved credit. Thanks for that!!
