Well as for me I am not a Kiss fan nor have I ever been. I think the makeup is a bit much. I am a major supporter of Indie Band’s and there are allot of them that have major talent. The music industry has changed and it’s not as easy to get the “big breaks”. They should be greatfull they got theirs and stop trashing everyone else.
What a bunch of stale, tired little tools you all are who rip on Gene and the guys. The fact is, they’re right. Today’s popular music SUCKS. I’ve seen 2 of their shows and they are mindblowing. Sell outs? Idiots. When a band does the same old thing over and over, they’re blasted for pandering. When they try new stuff and try to appeal to more people, they’re sellouts. KISS MADE rock n roll and influenced ALL the bands you guys worship now. Yea- I’d RATHER Ace and Peter were there, but if KISS wasnts to keep going even after Gene and Paul are gone, Fine. They’ll die out when people stop buying and it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen soon. How many other bands can do that?
Seems to me that Kiss forgets about the 10 years or so of absolute garbage music put out by them. And the first time I ever saw them was on the Crazy Nights tour and Ted Nugent kicked their butts. He made Kiss look like amatures. And he had maybe less than a quarter of the stage and went out and killed it without bombs, fire etc. They redeemed themselves when they did their farewell reunion tour with Peter and Ace back in. But, this has always been Kiss act like you are the biggest and the best even if you aren’t until people believe you are.
kiss hit it big along time ago and now they think there gods of rock and roll but there just another band. who are they to rate other peoples music if the band is selling out at concerts and are making money and people like there songs then it aint in a pathetic state i guess kiss forgot that the only thing that matters is people being entertained, me myself i dont like anything kiss has done A DISCO album and they can say rock and roll…..

Gee…must be nice to have all that money and the power to talk shit that apparently goes with it. I think KISS would probably be taken a little more seriously if they tried putting on a free show or maybe tried growing out of this adolescent behavior of trying to one up people that don’t have record contracts or that are struggling just to get recognized. But all these words will be lost on the band who has sold out. No real musician would spout such ignorance towards his fellow musicians. Nor would any real musician subject his/her fans to their own line of cologne.
Because smelling good is SOOOO rock and roll.
Or maybe they are just mad because people don’t want to go see the 15th farewell tour these tired hacks decide to put on because they want more money. Whatever…insignificant words from a small, and ultimately, insignificant man.
One last thing…So, was Gene also referring to the bands that are going on tour with them or have opened for them? Or were they the exception? I can only hope for a stroke or shattered hip for this know nothing has-been twit.

kiss did everything gene was insulting there…they were more about show than the actual art of music, and it shows, because their music is boring and unoriginal
they are “has beens” as far as i see it. No one gives a shit if you prance around on stage wearing high heels and metal suits. wtf kind of cross dressing knight of the round table shit is that anyway. I’d like to mention the fact that music is constantly evolving just like anything and everything in this world does. ape to man, rolling stones to kiss. Open up your ear’s and see, musicians these days make Kiss’s style of music sound “pathetic”. Take for instance the band “The Number Twelve Looks like you” They’re music may not be the average persons style, but if you compare they’re musical talent — excluding the vocals– to kiss’s.. Let’s just say Kiss is highly LACKING.
just to mention one more thing.. the only music that is even bringing in money these days is the metal, hardcore, screamo scene. It’s the only scene with fans that actually care enough about the music and the bands to go out and buy the albums.

I never liked Kiss. They not only didn’t influence me, or those who did, they bored the hell out of me. But for a band that has the audacity to bash anyone who doesn’t have investors paying for a million dollar stage show and talkes about “Bang for your buck”, THEY RIP THEIR FANS OFF!

How many millions of people ran out and bought everything they could because they were LIED TO.
The second Kiss booked this tour, they spit in the eyes of every fan they ever had and laughed all the way to the bank. And it amazes me that the Kiss Army itself doesn’t launch a class action lawsuit against them for their ticket money back.
Most of the “great bands” and “artists” named by the many Kiss haters here won’t last 5 years, let alone 30.
You may not agree with what Gene says, but he’s earned the right to say whatever he wants.

Gene Simmons will say anthing to make a buck and get some FREE publicity!! He’s a talentless dick…and an expert salesman. While there is some point to putting on a show, or moving the crowd, it doesn’t always take 50 pounds of gear, makeup, and some fireballs. If every band could afford that stuff, you might see more FIRE.
