The Black Crowes Vs. Gretchen Wilson, TNT and Sony BMG

Jonathan Cohen of Billboard.com reports: Lawyers for the BLACK CROWES have served copyright infringement notices to GRETCHEN WILSON, TNT, Sony BMG and publishing company J Money Music over the band’s 1991 hit “Jealous Again”.

The CROWES claim Wilson exploited the track for her own song, “Work Hard, Play Harder”, which TNT in turn then used in ads for its show “Saving Grace”.

I gotta say The Black Crowes do have a case, but it’s mainly on the same theory that Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” was similar to The Rubinoos’s “I Want To Be Your Boyfriend”.

Pretty blatant, The Black Crowes aren’t really given their due as to their musical talents and achievements. As for Grethchen Wilson-well when you have no musical imagination these things are to be expected. But make no mistake the ones with cosmic musical talent will and should defend themselves.
