RATING: 3/5

High energy Pop music is never going to go out of style. With so many bands in that genre you may find a lot of them produce the same tacky punk pop style, which brings this type of music to a stale standstill. But then you get a band like FROM JUPITER. At first listen I was like here we go again its poppy, it’s energetic and the singer has this high “boy band” sound. But once you really delve into the songs one by one you find there is more to the ear then just the simple pop rock flair. The playful way the guitars trigger new sounds in each song, the way they have this fun fill packed power without losing the crisp rock n roll integrity. BLUEPRINT TO A LIE has a dark sounding rock vibe to it and reminded me of some old Sum 41. OXYGEN TASTES LIKE PATIENCE drives you back to the New Found Glory days…poppy punk with lots of energy. ROCKET BOY intertwines rock guitars, atmospheric tendencies and I like the way he divides his vocal patterns. To be honest the 3rd overall listen to this CD made me dig even more tracks. Looks like FROM JUPITER might have a solid record for 2009.
