RATING: 4/5
When A DAY TO REMEMBER first came out with FOR THOSE WHO HAVE HEART I fell in love with their melodic nature and the way they slipped in the heavier sentiments into some of the songs on that disc. Then they did a cover of Kelly Clarkson song and well the passion for them left my being for a bit.
Now I just received HOMESICK the bands newest CD and I’m back on track and loving every little musical inch of this band. This album pushed the heavier nature throughout the disc on a bigger scale, the gang vocals add dimension to songs and create a fun nature in songs. The poppy melodic ambience is given to you in 110% mentality and really drives the album to new depths. MR HIGHWAY’S THINKING ABOUT THE END is a song that is probably the best in my opinion on the disc. The way the crushing brutal vocals intertwine with the clean and upbeat side but still keeps the chugging heavy backdrop in makes the song a winner in my book. THE DOWNFALL OF US ALL is a second winning song with its high spirited sound. A DAY TO REMEMBER has delivered in HOMESICK. Get it now.

I absolutley agree with you man.
Every song is amazing in their own way.
This album has made me a fan.
Homesick is probibly one of the hardest albums ADTR has made.
The breakdowns are way more brutal than their last album, and The song “Welcome to the Family” with Vincent Bennett from The Acacia Strain Slumps tooo hard.
But…….There old albums still shit on em’.
Its good to go vintage every once and a while.
ok im gonna be completely realistic about this album homesick is a great album and the songs are not too hard because this is the depths of post hardcore/pop punk this is what they are trying to achive not only by letting the world know that they are home sick but that they are also a pop mosh band they had success with ftwhh and the since u been gone cover but homsick is not the perfect album.the world of post hardcore music is closed minded to the bro-chants and drop c open noted breakdowns. more and more bands are coming out and all we can hope for is that adtr takes over the world like they said they would or no one is gonna be marking their words…
