Coheed and Cambria bassist Michael Todd a kleptomaniac? No, probably just likes his drugs!

Michael Todd, bass player for the rock band Coheed and Cambria, was arraigned in Attleboro District Court Monday for allegedly stealing drugs from the Walgreens Pharmacy on Pleasant Street Sunday. Michael was charged with holding up the Walgreens Pharmacy on Pleasant Street for drugs hours before the band was set to play in concert Sunday, admitting to the robbery when confronted with video evidence, a prosecutor said Monday.

Meanwhile, the band announced on its website that bass player Michael R. Todd, 30, has been replaced for the remainder of the tour as a result of his arrest backstage on a tour bus Sunday, about six hours before the band was set to open for headliner Soundgarden at the Comcast Center in Mansfield.

The band said the charges were too serious for Todd to continue on the tour and replaced him with Wes Styles, a multi-instrumentalist who has a longtime affiliation with the band. No shows were cancelled as a result of Todd’s arrest, the band said.

“We are surprised to say the least and will address the situation with Michael after the tour. For now, we just want to have a great time out here and finish with some killer shows in Boston, Poughkeepsie, Quebec City and Halifax,” the band said.

Now after reading this, I’m thinking he may have to search for a new band, because I’m pretty sure all of his friends in C & C aren’t impressed.

Cheers,
Tyler
