I never really knew what Bedlight for Blue Eyes sounded like. Before checking out
Life on Life’s Terms I only heard one song, but I have to say I enjoy what I’m hearing here.
Being signed to Trustkill, I kind of had my premonitions of what they would sound like musically, but I was dead wrong. I’m sure you are sitting there thinking the same thing, so I will tell you that these guys are not any type of metal normally associated with their record label. They offer a very solid take on modern indie rock, blended with a little emo. “Without You (We Are Everything)†is a good all-around effort, really exercising BFBE’s quality musicianship, including clean vocals with decent range and a nice little guitar solo as well. “The City and the Ghost†and “Waste My Time†are firm modern rock tracks that should see their way onto your iPod and the semi-acoustic ballad “Walk With Me†is the smartest song of the outing. At the risk of sounding cliché, this really sounds like a track that a TV drama would use in some type of video montage. You know those shows like CSI or Without a Trace that use indie music in order to attempt to gain some type of credibility.Â
At the end of the day, Life on Lifer’s Terms is a good record. I would actually recommend this CD to all fans of rock music. Â
